shiming a scope????
« on: January 08, 2006, 05:36:15 AM »
i put on a 4x scope on my T/C Contender, and sighted it in in a hurry one day, before a hunt and the x hairs were not perfect( last Feb.), so today i loosed rings and got x hairs straight ,,,now i am happy, but i remember when i sighted it it, it was right at all my "clicks" down on the scope to get it in the bullseye, sooooooooo, i am heading to range to shoot this eveing, but what about it i had to shim( thin allum. soda can shim or whaT under scope between mounts---if needed) the scope to get some more height to bring it in the bulls eye.,.....does this make sense?????LOL.......thanks for all replies..........and yes i am going on 2 hunting trips this week with the 44 mag Contender........and one is out of state........so i am running out of daylight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D  :-D
