Front post height

Hey folks, I just picked up a Williams peep sight for my Encore, and the instructions call for a specific height for the fron post. I've been unable to get my hands on a micrometer to measure it, so I thought I'd ask you folks. What IS the standard front post height for an Encore?

It depends on caliber. There are several different ones. I have a 45/70 barrel that I could not zero and called TC. They sent me three or four different ones to try.  KN

If your barrel is not tapered you can take the front sight off and set it next to you rear sight with it adjusted to lowest position. The front sight should be the same height  or slightly higher.

Another way is to mount the barrel in a vise or something and bore sight it at a target at 30 yds of so and see if you can adjust the sight to match at close to the lowest position.
