Both bullets have a "partition", but that is where all similarity ends! The Nosler Partition has a relatively "soft" front half and is designed for rapid expansion in order to deliver maximum shock back as far as the partition. Very often all the lead from the front half of the partition is wiped off the jacket and deposited inside the animal. After this happens the remainder of the bullet (the back half behind the partition) continues penetrating. This back half is typically about 50 to 60 % of the original weight and it has now returned to the original size of the bore(or almost anyway.) On the other hand, the Swift A-Frame, although similar in apparent construction, has a much, much tougher front half. This bullet will usually mushroom to about double caliber diameter and maintain typically over 90% of its original weight while it continues to penetrate. Along with great shock, the A-Frame also creates a much larger wound channel, which is critical in dispatching critters who may want to dispatch the shooter. As in so many of the threads on this and other forums, one needs to match the bullet to the game.
