Guns N Ammo Dec 2005 NEF and ATI combo
« on: January 05, 2006, 05:59:13 AM »
Anybody read the article in Guns N Ammo Dec 2005 on the ATI stock combo kit for NEF rifles?  It was a two page article about how to turn your single shot rifle into an psuedo-assault rifle with an M4 stock, pistol grip, heat shroud on the barrel, and bi-pod.

Looks like crap.  And why the heck would you want to spend $150 to make your single shot budget rifle look like an assault rifle?

I agree with the above 2 posts, toy like and I have heard it's flimsy, and it looks like "crap" (a technical term for a piece of excrement, defecation or feces if you prefer) also. That opinion is just mine of course!!!....<><....

There are some defrfinitechanges that could be made but overall I think it looks pretty cool. I like the fact that I can have an assault type rifle with great accuracy at an affordable price.

Wouln't want to mess with an enemy armed with single shot assault rifles.  You KNOW they'd have to be real good.  Not to mention thrifty.

an enemy armed with single shot assault rifles would be VERY SCARY......anyone that would take a SS into battle against a full aoto is CRAZY and may actually win because no one can tell him he CAN'T win     :-D  :-D  :-D

look under gun stock, gun stocks, H&R, or Harrington & Richardson in the sporting goods catagory. But remember, flimsy construction and "toy like" (both in looks and construction)....<><....

That just doesnt look right. The shroud really doesnt serve much of a purpose. It just makes the gun look like some unrealistic toy gun a 5 yearold would have.

Why would a gun magazine run an article like that in the first place?  A two page article!

I wonder how much money ATI paid them to write an "article" on their junk.  It really makes you wonder about ALL THE OTHER articles in their magazine...  If they'll try to sell us that crap, what else are they trying to pull over our heads?  Do they think we're that dumb?

I mean, in that SAME issue, they have multiple reviews of custom and semi-custom rifles that cost THOUSANDS.  And then they have a two page review of some crappy aftermarket wanna-be assault add-ons for an inexpensive single shot rifle?  Give me a break!

Guns N Ammo consistantly has articles on guns that 99% of us will NEVER buy.  I almost NEVER see a regular gun reviewed.  Like a regular Savage 30-06 or a Remington 700 223 or anything basic and normal.  They've always got to go overboard with custom rifles and rare pistols.

I'd never buy that magazine.

i'm on both sides of the field , they told me i'll probably get a SAW so beware of the man with 200 bullets also.

Believe it or not, having myself been in combat, I would not hesitate to take a bolt action Mauser in.
Some may think it crazy, but from my experience, I would rather have had one.
Just ask the Bosnians.
A little off topic, but anyway.
Only way I'd take a single shot is as a long range proposition, and even then with a back-up magazine rifle.
By the way, I hate those stock combos also.

The only single shot I'd ever be in a combat situation with is an RPG.
