Need info on J. C. Higgins Model 101.540 side-by-side please

Hi folks,

I recently won a J. C. Higgins Model 101.540 side-by-side 12 gauge in a raffle at a local gun club. I think it might be a Stevens or Savage made gun, but haven't been able to find a cross-reference for this model anywhere.  Can you shed some light on what I have?

More than likely a Stevens 311.  Good sturdy box lock.
