It will draw the beaver in just fine,except you are going to miss them.
The mound,should be directly behind your trap.Take the two sticks you have along the sides,and run them in an X over the top of the trap.Remove the stick you have over the top of the trap,and hyst go with the X stcks-----now get some bigger and longer wood,to block off the sides.You have the right idea on the side blocking,it just has to be more substantial.
