Does anyone have any suggested loads using FG powder on our 44mm
cannon with a barrel length of 800mm (bored from solid steel).
I have read somewhere that 100 grains by weight is the start point but
we intend to use both golf balls and other projectiles e.g. lead ball at 16ozs and a sabot canister load using buckshot or BB at 8ozs in weight.
Does anyone know what a reasonable muzzle velocity is using solid or canister shot for 200 yards.
Luckily we have made our piece over speced to hell in the interests of safety.
Still to make the carriage yet but the car trailer wheels are looking interesting!
