Light Strikes?
« on: October 22, 2005, 06:41:10 AM »
Hey all!  I've got a new 983S and every now and then it is giving me a light strike on the primer.  It only happens every 17-25 rounds and I can lift the bolt and then it will fire the round.  It doesn't happen that often but just enough to make a guy wonder.  I was curious if this is a problem that will work out over time or if I might have to change out some parts?  I'm thinking about swapping the bolt with my 917 and seeing if it still has the same problem.  Thanks for all your thoughts and ideas.

Could it be you have a bad lot of ammo?
I would look there first.

Greenhunter,
No it's not the ammo, it does it with all ammo.  I am thinking this may be a break in problem, because it seems to be getting better with each session but it's still there.  Thanks for responding.  I still haven't tried my 917 bolt yet, and probably never will but the idea is still there.
