I learnd this lesson the hard way with my handi's (and probably my bolt guns too) but mine showed real load secitivity. You need to work-up a load for that gun. Go from the starting load to max-1 in .5 of a grain (I was working on a 204 270 may take a bigger step) then at max -1 go up by .2.
I used to use loads from use Ken Waters "Pet loads" and usually 1 or 2 tries produced a good load. It did not work well with my 243. And of course 204 did not exsist. So I was forced to work-up and it paided off, I was able to get every bullet I tried to shoot sub moa most pushing .5 moa really hard. with my best load +- .2 from the sweet spot and the groups doubled.
