Range Report .25-06 Ultra
« on: January 06, 2006, 02:50:46 AM »
Well I took a 1" lug screw and cut it down to .720" and rounded the edges, installed the o-ring, and bottomed out the new screw, and range tested some 85 gr noslers.
 The 2 loads were 50 gr H-380, and 54gr IMR 4350.

The H380 load was poor in every aspect!
The IMR 4350 load Yielded a .38" 3 shot group @ 100, and a forth shot opening it up to .780.
The bullet is seated just barley in the neck and still not touching the lands.
 very deep chamber throat

I will load up another batch of the 4350 load and chrony it as well as post a 5 shot group.
This is my first .25-06 and is is a very pleasent gun to shoot.
no x now!

stimpylu32,

You can see a baseball at 100 yards?  I'm impressed!

I have good luck with the 75gr Hornady A-Max and H4831sc.  5 shot groups as small as 13/16 with that combo.
