« on: January 06, 2006, 01:10:02 PM »
thinking about getting an encore and was wondering what is a good price? i would like to get a stainless version, with synthetic stocks or laminate stocks, with the heavy 26" barrel in .260, .257roberts, or .7mm/08. any input?

I got mine three years ago, and it was a stainless with walnut stocks for 520.00.  It was a muzzleloader, so that might throw the price up a little since the muzzleloader barrels themselves are usually a little more.  At the time and even since then, that is one of the lowest prices I have seen around my parts, so I feel pretty good about it.  Do you're homework though, cause I could have easily paid 100.00 more for a blued version.
Good luck.

Just finished putting mine together.

Bought the synthetic and stainless frame locally for $327.

Purchased the 26" heavy barrel in 7mm from EABrown for around $246 shipped.  So about $573. Which I don't think is a bad price at all.

Then you add the scope, base and rings, hammer extender, hard case, cleaning snake, etc., it'll bump you right on up to the $1200 mark easy.
