Hey Al,
I use a Sako 75 sporter .308 with 22" barrel, so don't use too slow a powder with the shorter barrel.
I use ADI's AR 2206, specially developed for the .308/7.62.
It's equivalents are BLC(2) and AA2230, and slightly faster than H335 and H4895, and W748 and N135.
I would use Hodgdon's or IMR's 4895 as a substitute.
Having purchased the best cases that I could find, (Lapua), I then looked for the best value for money projectiles, for practice as well as match.
Sierra 155gr HPBT Palma Match fitted the profile.
You can buy them in bulk, and they're very accurate.
Sierra will help you determine bullet drop/ballistics etc at silhouette distances, if you ask. They're very helpful.
My load for c,p,t is 43.5gr ADI AR2206 to mnfrs OAL recommended,
with Federal match primers, for 2,750 fps.
(Shoots under a minute in the sporter)
I use the 175gr Sierra HPBT Match for Rams, in Federal Brass with Federal Match primers, mnfrs OAL, and 42.0 grs of ADI AR2206 for 2,600 fps.
Different brass to easily identify them, although the Federal is softer and the primer pockets are prone to expand.
Hell, Juddy, you don't need to kill the Rams with 190grs, just to knock them over.
The Lapua 185gr factory is pretty slow in my shorter barrel, but I use them for practice, as they have been available here as surplus, probably from Military sniper stocks.
cheers,
Sean
