ccw newbie with holster question
« on: January 11, 2006, 03:23:20 AM »
I just started carrying about 6 months ago and have acquired a Ted Blocker DA3 IWB holster. Its very nice (now that its broken in) but it just seems not to work in some situations. It's a pancake style holster that allows for a shirt to be tucked in over it, and I'm carrying a Springfield XD9 subcompact.

Any thoughts on a right-handed guy using a LEFT-handed IWB holster and pushing it all the way around to 4-5 o'clock. This would allow the pistol to be drawn from the holster by griping the gun with the back side of the hand against your back. The cant of the holster would seem to allow for a smooth draw with your right hand.

I know the arguments against SOB carry, and concur, but in some situations it seems like this would be better/more concealable.

Any thoughts or experience with this type of carry arrangement........
