Winchester deal - good or okay?
« on: December 30, 2005, 04:33:21 PM »
Well how did I do?  A model 70 blued with floor plate and synthetic stock in 300WM (if anybody knows what they called this model, please let me know, it's not listed on the Winchester site.  The shop ower says it's not old.)  It's wearing a Bushnell Elite 3200 3x9-40 scope and the whole rig looks new inside and out.  $325!

Not sure what you bought, but the 3200 in 3-9 power sell for about $200.00  and are very good scopes. I bought a win 300wm from Wall -Mart a few years ago with out hinged floor plate and a cheap SIMMONS SCOPE FOR ABOUT $ 350.00 is a push feed, they call it the shadow. Any way with the scope's value thats mighty a cheap price for the rifle.

After I got a closer look, it says Black Shadow on the barrel.  The scope also has the FireFly crosshairs.  I'm very happy.  Now just got to get it to the range.

I got to the range today.  The rifle shoots great!  Back to back sub one inch 5 shot groups, with cheapie factory ammo.  I pulled the scope and put on a Nikon Monarch 3-9x40, glass bedded the stock, free floated the barrel, and lightened the trigger pull to about 3 pounds.  I can't wait 'till the next range day!
