Stevens 200 and Limbsaver recoil pads
« on: January 12, 2006, 05:13:04 AM »
Does anyone know if the "pre-fit" Limbsaver pads for the Savage 110 will line right up with the stock of the Stevens 200? I'm not talking about the limbsaver slipover model (I don't like the looks of those) but the pre-fitted ones that are sold on Midway? If the pre-fit doesn't work, I'll go with the grind to fit. I just didn't want to put on the goggles and mask if I didnt have to.

Also, any suggestions on where or who sells a cammo paint that I could use to paint the stock? I would think it would be a kit that would consist of green and brown. I would like a good quality as I dont want to have to re-paint the stock after a month of field use.

BTW, my Stevens 200 in 308 should be here next week. From all I have read I need to get my files ready to take off the bad spots on the stock, and get rid of the chunk of brick that they call a recoil pad.

Also, I read another post that someone was filling the hollow part of the stock with an expanding (or maybe a non-expanding) foam to get rid of the hollow sound. Any hints on the foam type?

I appreciate your responses.

Thanks.

Dave.
