OLD POWDER HORN
« on: January 16, 2006, 06:53:34 AM »
I have a old powder horn that has carvings of eagles head and a date of 1816 on one side and a whole eagle on the other side. It also has other carvings on it. There are no names nor do I have any knowledge of it orgin. It is attached to a leather shoulder strap with two handmade primitive  knives. One knife is a skinner with a deer antler handle, the other is smaller with a turkey thigh bone handle. The wooden end caps seem to be put togather with a red resin that looks like tree sap.I was what it might be worth ?? It looks very aged.
