I have a Buffalo Classic; fancy handi rifle, and I want to change the forearm attachment method. It would involve removing the screw stud and reattaching a different metal block. I was needing to know if it would probably be better to tig or mig this on or to cut a wide dovetail and solder it for a stronger bond?
The lug is responsible for put pressure on the hinge joint to create a solid joint. I don't believe it take any of the real pressure upon firing, but I feel it needs to be pretty solid?
