Lookie at what I found at a local pawnshop. The first nice Moisin sporter I've ever seen. Complete with Redfield sights , Fajen stock and a spoon shaped bolt handle. It may not shoot very well as the bore looks like a sewer pipe but she shure is purdy.  I'll find out how it shoots tommorrow.

Made in the USSR how cool is that, A spanish civil war rifle.

Well I'll de darned !    Even though the bore is tragic on this rifle it shoots pretty good. Three inch 5 shot group at 100yds using S&B 180gr sp ammo. It's a keeper.

Way Cool!  That could easily be your next go-to rifle.  Those things shoot very well.  Nice find!  Mikey.

the Mosin Nagant was the main issue long arm of the Imperial & Soviet Russian army's from 1891-the mid 50's. it was also used by the finns, chinese, poles, north koreans, you get the idea. it's fires 7.62x54R, a rimmed cartridge about midway between between the .308 & .30-06 in power and punch.the one above has been very nicely sporterized. this is what the common issue rifle would look like.
