Switching barrels / scope accuracy?
« on: January 18, 2006, 03:22:08 AM »
Question for those of you who have purchased additional barrels for your Handi-rifles:

Do your scopes need to be "re-zeroed" each time you switch the barrels out?

I'm thinking about doing a muzzleloader barrel conversion to my Ultra Slug Hunter but I'm concerned about having to make multiple trips back to the range after each time I change barrels.

Thanks.

as long as you've got a scope for each barrel it'l stay zeroed. the scope would stay sighted to the barrel since it's all one unit essentially. You'd just make sure the fore-end screw tightness is the same everytime you swap barrels, that's about all that would shift zero maybe. if i sounded confusing just read this part. A scope for each barrel and thats not removed at all and you'll be fine.

I switch my barrels quite often with only a slight diffrence from the forarm screw ,  and that is very very little .

I had the same question.  I ve switched several times between my huntsman and 308 and have not had to change anything. But I tighten screw tight as i can get it with a normal size screw driver.
