Steel Shot??
« on: February 06, 2006, 02:53:19 AM »
A buddy of mine asked me if he could shot steel shot through is 12 ga parder turkey gun. He wants to shoot 3 inch #2's through the full choke in it. I wasn't sure because it has one of the tightest chokes I have seen. At 30 yards with 3" #4 lead shot the pattern only opens up to about 30 inches.

As far as I know steel shot through a full choke is a no-go.  He could use bismuth or heavy shot.

I posed this very question to Customer service.
Here is the reply:

Yes you can. Extensive use can open your choke up a little but it is not dangerous

Subject: Pardner Shotgun question

I recently purchased a 12 Ga. Pardner with a 32" full choke barrel.
The S.N. starts with NM. Can I safely shoot steel shot thru this gun?
