Dummy Question on Upland Hunting
« on: April 27, 2007, 10:40:48 AM »
All these years I haven't actually seen the term "upland hunting" defined.

My best guess is that it is hunting with a shotgun in woods or fields vs near water.

Right, wrong?

It seems most often to refer to "bird" hunting for species such as dove, quail, grouse, woodcock, pheasants and the like but also seems to be expandable to include rabbits and even squirrels. It specifically doesn't include waterfowl hunting or turkey hunting as it is generally used.
