Has any one had any first hand experience with it?

I wonder why the calibers are so limited, why not a 6 BR or 30 BR? You know something interesting...

I have one in .223 and am nuts about it. Without a break-in and with generic handloaded ammo not tuned to the rifle, my first 5 5-shot groups agg'ed .643. I found that pretty interesting.

Yup got the .223 and .22-250. Haven't fired the .22-250 tho. Took the .223 on a prairie dog shoot back in June out in the OK panhandle. Did fine out to over 400 yards with it. I've really not even made an attempt to work up special loads for it. Tried three different loads I had on hand and all three of them were in the under 3/4" range down to well under 1/2". So I just went with what I had and did fine. I'm sure I'll eventually work up a load for it but when every thing I have fed it so far is near 1/2 MOA it hardly seems worth while.

I'm hoping Remington will expand the current chamberings next year. A 6mm would work for me. If some new calibers don't show up for it, I'll probably just get a VLS.
Then I always have the option of converting an XP100, but that's more expensive for the same results a factory rifle will provide.

Just talked to one of my best friends today. He went to Gander Mountain and saw a XR-100. He looked it over and saw 308 Win on the barrrel ! Brand New rifle. Yet I have never heard them chambering it for 308 yet. Is this a leak? I hope it's here to stay.
I sincerely hope they expand their chamberings next year for the XR-100.

:grin: I have had the XR-100 in 22-250 for about 6 months have shot several loads through it. The most accurate so far is the Combined Technology in 50grn silvertip with 39.5grns of H-380 or 35.5grns of 4895 both shot 3/8 inch groups.

Finley made the trip to the gun store today and brought home a new XR-100 in a 223. Will try to get the scope on tonight and try it out tomorrow afternoon.

I can't remeber where I came acrose it at but read some store had a special run in the XR 100 in a 308. That should be a great shooter.

Got one in .204 Ruger.The price was right.For $20 I bought a raffle ticket from the local 1,000 yard BR club and won that rifle!
So far I have only got to shoot it once.I have it zeroed at 100 yards and it seems to be a shooter with Hornadys 32 G. V-MAX.I did get to shoot a crow with it last week.Bang, whop,feathers and chunks everywhere.
Hope to get out and play with it this weekend.
