Folks:

I've pm'd Graybeard... to see if he has more information.

I'm sure you'll join me in keeping Lawdog and his family in our thoughts.

I've not personally confirmed this yet but suspect it is true. I have been told this by several members and one of them says he has verified it with the family via a PM to Lawdog's account. I have sent an e-mail to his e-mail address in an attempt to verify.

I don't know what to say.........Gary and I frequently sent PM's about California politics...........While I never spoke with him, or met him, I have enjoyed his post.  Lets hope this rumor is false.  While it's none of my business, I'd like some more details if possible.

I have enjoy reading Lawdog's writings.  If true his thoughts will be missed.  I suggest if found true that the title Lawdog be retired from this forum out of respect for his contribution to Graybeard Outdoors.  His post attracted viewers. Many a time I would view a post because it was originated by  Lawdog or he had replied to anothers post.  The bottomline is that he help keep the fires burning.  In the Tribal sense the keeper of the fire is a VIP.

I too am deeply saddened by the news.  I had wondered why he had not posted for several weeks; I missed his posts during that period but did not realize there would be no more, ever.
We are diminished.

I can't seem to get this to post as a new message right now so will post it as a reply here for now and add it as a new topic when I can.

Guys I have been contacted by Lawdog's daughter Desiree. I will quote her below:

Quote
Bill,

I am Gary's daughter, Desiree.  Several members on
your board or list, sorry I don't know what it is
called, have writen to my mom asking if there is
anything they can do.  I know that she will never say
anything, but father did not have any insurance
because of his medical condition so mom has no means
of which to bury him.  I have applied for a line of
credit against my house to cover the expenses.  I do
not have much hope that I will get it due to the fact
my own credit was distroyed when my own husband passed
away a little over 5yrs ago leaving me and our
children with no income for 6 months.  Gary's real
name is Gary L. Reinhardt his final arrangements are
being handled by Chapel of the Lakes 1625 N. High St,
Lakeport, CA 95453 (707) 263-0357

So guys this looks like it might be a good time for those who considered Gary a friend here at GBO to step up and help the family with the funeral expenses. I've asked Desiree to provide me a full name for either her or her mom and a mailing address so we can send cards and money. When I get it I will either post it or mine or perhaps Gunrunner's as he has volunteered to handle the matter also.

Will tell you more when I know more.
