Thanks for your reply to my last post Gunnut69.
I would like to re-set the extractor on my 92 win. Could this be done by tapping with a hammer while cold, or would cold working create local stress points in the steel? It only needs to be moved a few thou.
Would it be better to work it at a dull red heat and re- temper?
