Ruger trigger options?
« on: January 20, 2006, 12:41:23 PM »
Ran across two very lightly used Ruger 77/22 All Weathers last week - one in .22mag and one in .22lr.  The Maggie wears a Leupold 2X7 Rimfire Special and the .22lr is mounted with a Leupold 4X Rimfire Special.  The price was right, or at least I thought it was.  It has been a long time since I bought a rimfire.  Got both rigs for $1025 OTD.

I have spent some time shooting the mag, but haven't had a chance to shoot the lr much.  I'm quite impressed with the mag - a round which I have never considered to be inherintly accurate.  It groups five shots at about an inch at 50 yards.

My one complaint - of course, the trigger is heavy.  I have a couple M77 centerfires that I put Timney triggers in and have been very happy.  I see Midway has a 77/22 Timney (#943-284) for $35.  Is this the best/easiest way to go?  Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks guys.  :D
