Range report
« on: April 11, 2008, 10:07:32 AM »
I took my 1-12 twist 223 ultra varmint to the range today to try some loads, I tried some 52 grain A-max bullets, and tried RL 15 with some 70 grain speer semi spitzers and got great accuracy, This powder has shot this bullet by far the best compaired to h322 and h335. I also shot some of the 52 grain a-max bullets with different charges of h335 with decent accuracy, but my gun loves h322 with 50-55 grain bullets,  I shot some 40 grain v-max's with h335 and they are showing some potential, but the load needs a bit more work.

5 shots, 100 yards, 70 grain speer semi spitzer, 24 grains Reloader 15, cci 400 small rifle primer, rem brass, col: 2.250

5 shots, 100 yards, 52 grain A-max , 24.5 grains H322 ,cci BR4 primer,  rem brass, col: 2.250

I shot this target at 175 yards from my harris bypods with some leftover 50 grain v-max  loads from last year.

Who says a 70gr won't shoot in a 1-12" twist barrel?  :o

Both targets number 1 and 2 look good except number one apparently has one that took off on you ??? I just hate that when that happens. ::) Anyhow-good report. Dave
