Stevens M 77 Firing Pin - Two Piece?
« on: January 23, 2006, 09:21:58 AM »
Did Stevens make a 2 piece firing pin for their model 77 12 guage?

I have one that (I thought) had a broken firing pin.  I found a fella with a spare, but he said that his is in two pieces as well and that this is how they are supposed to be.

I have a spare, but it is the smaller one (0.260" OD) and I need the bigger one (0.280" OD) .... at least I think I need another firing pin?

I have a parts book at home, but I seem to recall the firing pin for the model 77 being a one-piece part.  I will check when I get home after work, but I was hoping that someone on here could help me clear this up in the interim as I am unsure as to whether this part is even broken!

Thanks

PS ... the spare that I have is a one piece firing pin.

Thanks for the response.

I found that part on numrich.  I have a potential source for the part (a shop in Canada) so I was more concerned with learning whether I even need a part.
