I suspect nearly every one of us has a favorite rifle that when the chips are down would rather have that particular rifle in their hands.
For me, it is a CDL in 300 Rum, topped with a vxiii 4.5x16x40. Not neccesarily because of caliber as much as the fact that rifle just plain fits me better than any other centerfire I have ever owned.
Plus the fact that I have had considerable success with it while hunting helps. The #1 reason it is my favorite go to rifle is because of the confidence I have when it comes time to pull the trigger. :grin:
It takes alot of pressure off when you know what the end result will be.
