Hey all, do these stocks work well with a scoped gun? If so, how about some pics!? If not, do you guys use a "cheek pad" to elevate your line of sight, how about some pics?! thanks in advance!

Jerry, Is that a 50mm scope? How much clearance do you havefrom lense to the barrel? I have a 204 on order and would like to know what hight rings to get for a 44 or 50 mm scope.

Yes, it is a 50mm.

If you click on the picture it enlarges it and you can see that I have quite a bit of clearance for the 50mm. I don't like the hammer extentions, so if I can get away with it, I mount the scope high enough that I can get my fat fingers under it.

I have a 44mm on mine with standard rindgs. There isn't much extra room, but they work, and you will need the hammer extensions without taller rings.

Where does your cheek fall on this stock with the scope on, it looks like it would almost be clear down on your jaw bone instead of your cheek bone where it is most comfortable, I've held one with open sights before and this stock lined up perfectly for that. Might have to get a padded riser. What do you think?

My Survivor stock is far more comfortabe for me. The Monte Carlo stock makes me have to realy cock my head sideways to shoot it. I think you'll like it. Digger

I was out today using my Survivor stock I slapped on my 223 to give it a try. I like the Survivor stock, but it does have a few draw backs. First off, the length of pull is too short for me to use it on my 223. I continuely had to get up on my scope. Then again I am 6 '4 and most Handis are a tad short for me anyway, but the Survivor was noticeably less. And yes, you mentioned about cheek placment. For me it was more like chin placement

. I think I'll put this stock back on the 12ga and leave it. But I had to try, and I'm glad I did.
You might be more pleased with the Choate Varmint buttstock, way more adjustments and you can get a cheek piece for it was well.

Where do you get a cheek piece for the choate stock? Are you refuring to the slip on ones or does choate make them special for there stocks?

I just got of the phone with Choate as I couldn't seem to find these pieces on the Net, though I kow I have seen them and the AD it's self at Choates web site says:

I believe that the $36.95 is only for the forend.

The buttstock is somthing like $48.00 if I remember correctly.

Midway lists the buttstock for $37, special order 30+ days, but I couldn't find the forend, just the T-rail for $13.....plus their fairly high shipping.
