Wasted Range Visit.

Toke out the 6x47 for a test run. Set up the Chrono. Had two loads, 20 55gr Nolser BT and 10 68gr Buno BR br bullets. It was a desaster only 7 out of the 30 fired. Even though I installed a new hammer spring and tried two primers at home.

Contrary to my own findings I used the CCI small Match primers which gave trouble in my Viper action in 6ppc.

The velocities were very close to the Quick Lod prediction, 3398 for the 55g5r and a 3140 for the 68gr. After fire forming the case volume increased to excactly 33.0gr from 30.4gr H2o 33.0gr is what it supposed to be according to QL. So the last two shots after the rough sighting in. Bingo two shots in one hole, tried four more cases but no spark.

So now I have to do that all over again. The new load can stand a bit more powder. It looks like the 3550 at 57k will be right on. and 3200 for the 68gr bullets. But these are to expensive too shoot at varmints. It looks like the 55 or 58 gr will do just fine. No recoil and not much noise.
That 4-12 Bushnell scope is not too bad either.

I came away ok with 5 new loads for the 257R with the 75gr V-max what a sizzler that is at 3577ft. But these are a bit sticky. Wont need that rifle for varmints after I get that wee 6mm going.

Here is a bit of a write up on my web site.
