Armour Alloy barrell fit blued frame
« on: January 25, 2006, 02:04:10 AM »
I have two AA barrels listed on ebay and a potental buyer is requesting information if this barrel will fit blued frame? I had blued barrels on my AA frame but don't know about AA barrel on blued frame. I thank at one time I had a AA barrel on a blued frame in a gun shop to see if it would fit. If it doesn't fit how much does it cost to have it altered" THKS for any help[/b]

An Armour Alloy barrel can be modified to fit a blued frame by Thompson/Center.  Call them (they usually are very helpful and answer their phone promptly) for the price and other details.

Does it have an & stamped on the side of the lug (I am pretty sure that is the symbol)?  If it does it has been modified by the factory to fit blued and stainless frames.

My 223 AA barrel has the & stamped on the side and fits my blued contender frame.

BTW, it's one heck of a good barrel and shoots 3" groups at 200 yards!! All that for the $150 I paid for the barrel.  :D

I checked......I was wrong....It just has the star stamp. But it still fits the blued frame and shoots the eyes out of flys at 100 yards.

My son had an AA .35 Rem bbl and it fit perfectly on his blued frame.  It was not factory modified.  The pin was a tight fit though.  We wrote to the TC factory and they told us that some AA bbls will fit blued frames and some won't.  They also said that if it fit and locked up, it would be entirely safe to fire it.  He has had it for many years and has fired it quite a bit.
