Porro prism or Roof Prism ?
« on: January 26, 2006, 10:57:56 AM »
I honestly don't know the difference, can someone enlighten me . I use eyeglasses and last fall didn't shoot at a nice buck because I could't get focesed to really assess his rack. I was using 8x40 Alpen bioculars. I was so mad I gave them to the first hunteer I met who didn"t have any binoculars.  Now I can't afford the best, so I don't need a big investment here. I was looking at some Bushnell's in Cabella's. They are all about in the same price range.  H20, powerview, Buckhorn, Trophy and Tasco.
These are all 10x42 (I was thinking a little more power might help) the Trophy model says it has a longer eye relief and roll up cups ? for eyeglass wearers.
Which one do I buy? or is there there a bet5ter alternative in the same price range.  As you can tell I don't know didddly about binoculars but I do have some Bushnell 8x25 I carry in my back pack, still can't see well with these darn glasses !
