Proper seating depth on bottle neck rifles
« on: February 05, 2006, 04:52:01 AM »
I have a Savage 25-06 and I would like to know what is generally the proper seat ing depth for bottle neck cases. Also, does any one have any good tips to find the proper bullet depth? I've thinking about putting a wooden dowl down the barrel to see where the bolt face lies, then puting a bullet in the chamber measuring it to see how fare it needs to go to touch the lands. Does this sound like a sound method. ( I have a RCBS chamber mic gauge coming, but I'm getting impatience)
