failure to extract
« on: January 07, 2006, 04:03:11 AM »
while at home in kc, on leave, i took the .223 bull barrel waiting for me there out to the range.  i put the target relatively close while i got the shots on paper, and let fly with 15 rounds.  many of the groups of 3 were touching.  i was impressed, the scope was adjusted, and i was ready to move the target back.  on the 16th round, the casing stayed in the chamber and had to be picked out.  17-22 were the same until i got disgusted and quit.  i know of a guy with a 22-250 that did the same.  anyone else?  this is my first disappointment with NEF, but it's a big one, and i'm not happy.  anyone solve this problem?

Quicks right (as usual!!), th3 first thing to go is clean all the crud, grease,  and oil out of the chamber and then do the same for the action. NO oil or grease in the chamber and they work great, even better if you polish the chamber. I have never had a failure to eject with my bull barrel .223 or any of my Handi's!!! I could just be one of the lucky one's but the fact remains, no failures to eject for me, ever!!!....<><....

check your brass, I've found most  at a tad to long for the handl's.
I trim my 243's .002 under spec and no problems since doing that
