HI,

I'm looking at buying a Browning BL-22 rifle for squirrel hunting, but my eyes aren't what they used to be and I want to replace the standard sights with a peep sight on the receiver. Unfortunately I am unable to find a peep sight for this gun. Any ideas ?

Another small issue - when I cock the BL-22 the hammer bites the skin between my thumb and forefinger. Any fixes for this ?

I just went thru a similar search- I found that Williams Gun Sight Co. makes a model FP-GR that is designed to fit rimfire grovved receivers. I think it would work fine on the Browning, but might be worth a call to check for sure (800-530-9028). I noticed also MidwayUSA.com catalogs them, although they are out of stock for about a week.

I bought a new BL22 at a gun show for a decent price. I was going to mount a tang sight on it but found out after looking at it that it doesn't have much of a tang to speak about.

Let me know if you find a good peep sight combo?

If you put on a peep in the rear you will most likely need a higher front sight too. Most times you do. That is why a lot of times they come in matched sets for the gun. They do not for all though so some times you have to shoot the gun to see where it is shooting and go from there.

Try Brownells, they carry Williams and I have one on order for an old Savage mod. 340 30-30 bolt action.
