hi all i am going to be getting a huntsman and a slug barrel for it and was wondering if anyone could suggest a good all purpose caliber rifle barrel to go with it something that could be used for any species large or small any suggestions would be appreciated also i was wondering if $250 for a NEF slugster was a good price thanks for any help i appreciate it   Terry

If you want to get a rifle barrel you will need to start with a handi-rifle or ultra receiver. You can not get a rifle barrel put on either the slugster or huntsman receiver. I would go with the 30/06 for an all-arounder and then order the shotgun and muzzleloader barrels for it. Just my $.02

I'm not really a fan of rimless cartridges, but I'm inclined to agree with c1skout.  The 30-06 would make a fine deer or elk gun.  Also with some lightwieght slugs you could vaporize some varmint.

Don't know how you feel about the 243, but that comes in a Combo with the Huntsman and might save you some $$$.  It's on an SB2 frame and you could send off for the slug barrel.
