I have a Stainless Raging Bull ( 8 inch bbl). I've read some horror stories of them having trouble are those isolated or should I be watching for trouble signs?

What is a good bullet for Maine whitetail deer and maybe a black bear?

I have some 255 hard cast that I'm starting to look for a load for

The Raging Bulls seem to be excellent guns, both of mine have been super shooters. Now any other Taurus is a whole nother story and a night mare to boot. You'll do fine with the RB.

Thanks Bill, I don't feed mine hot loads , I don't see the need, but I read on here where someones cylider flew open while shooting. That caused me some concern. Thanks again.

If you dont shut it all the way it might fly open... but I dont see how that happens, with the two locks on the cylinder. I have a RB .454 with a 6.5" barrel, and it has been an excelent gun, no problems at all. Shoots well, very smooth, nothing bad at all to say. I also have a taurus .44 ultralite that has given me some problems... but its not a RB. I would say that the .454 has enough power that you don't need to use hardcasts for hunting deer and blackies, something that expands, but more slowly. For bear protection, I do use hardcasts though.

The only Tarus I own is a Raging Bee (218 Bee). It is not a hand cannon but she does have a small kick. I have not had any problems with it and I enjoy shoting it. I am in the process of buying a 218 Bee for the Contender. I really like this caliber.

Thanks for the replies. I have several bullets to try now from the hard cast to some jacketed ( speer and hornady) As soon as I get some loaded and fired I'll post some results, assumig I get results worth posting.
