Can anyone give me a ballpark price for a used Commander length Randall 1911? Pistol is in decent shape with just a little galling. Barrel is excellent. Probably rate it as NRA Good-VG Minimum of light scratches and no rust (gotta' love Stainless Steel!) Thanks! :grin:

Randall was highly respected in the late 60's and early 70's and along with AMT, offered the first stainless steel 1911's.  I'm still using one of their stainless steel magazines regularly.  Is this a right hand one or a left hand?  Randall offered a true 'left hand' mirror image model 1911.  The controls were on the right and it ejected to the left for left hand shooters.  I would think any Randall would be an excellent shooter and a left hand model would have some collectability.  Are you buying or selling?  I would think $500 would be a fair price to pay for one, any less than that would be a gift.  If you are selling, put her on the internet and see if some collector takes an interest, particulary if it is a 'left hand' gun.   Either way, it is a interesting piece of history.  44 Man

I'd buy every one I could find at $550. I suggest you pick up a copy of Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values. The Randals are bringing some pretty big bucks with collectors. I sold an A131 last year for $1000 (most common model).

The Commander sized Randal was called a Raider or a Service Model C. There were only about 1500 made in this configuration and command more than the full sized model. Any left hand model will bring a good deal more.
