Do you back off the coyotes during dening season? If not why and if so why.

Yes, I quit hunting them. I hunt predators for fur. At that time the furs not much good, and if you don't let'em breed, you're possibly hurting next years success.

I dont go looking for them as much but if the opportunity arises Ill shoot em any time of year.

Like the last poster said i normally don't make an effort to hunt them when they are denning but if the oppertunity presents it self i will pop them
especially in a area where cows are calving. This is one area where coyotes are not welcome at any time of the year. They will take the calves right out of the mother cow. I have had them eat the nose off of young calves :D  ...........Joe..........

yep,I normally stop in march.why,I just don't enjoy shooting pregnant animals.are animals that might have young ones that depend on them to survive.

Thanks for the welcome oso45-70. I back off the coyotes about mid Feb. to assure a good crop of targets for the next season.

oso45-70, shooting coyotes that are playing games with livestock can be a year long job if needed. Nothing wrong with that at all. :wink:

I need to add that I too will shoot any predators anytime that are killing livestock or pets.
