.22 Mag Mistake - Update
« on: March 20, 2003, 04:42:06 AM »
I cleaned up the trigger on my Contender and used Graybeards tape idea on the forearm then brought 5 different types of ammo to the range.
The wind was gusting from about 10 to 15 mph and changing dirrections(slight breeze in Eastern Washington) so I decided to shoot at the 50 yard targets.
I was amazed at the difference from the week before!!!!!!!
The CCI TNT group was under 3/4 of an inch and Reminvton V Max was right behind it!!
It shot better than my Super 14 .22 LR using Ely Club Match.
I am not sure how much the wind effect is on the .22 Rimfire but I am happy with the results!
Maybe this weekend the wind will be lower and I will shoot at the 100 yard targets.
Thanks for everyone's help.

 i think the old graybearded man had a good idea. i use it on the contenders and encore handguns. works fine for me. you could get more fancy with it if you wanted by adding aluminum blocks or something. but why? if the tape works, it's easy and CHEAP :)  :D
