T/C Silver Elite Hawkens????????? HELP!!
« on: January 31, 2006, 06:48:23 PM »
Hello,

I am brand new to this forum so I appologize if I ask something that has been recently answered, but if at all possible I would like to find out more info on a muzzleoader I have. It is a T/C Silver Elite Hawkens, looks very similar to a reguler hawkens but has a silver barrel and more of a reddish walnut stock. I saw this muzzleloader in a catalog years ago and instantly went to the local gun store to order one. When i did, I was told they had quit making this model due to a factory fire??? Well I went ahead and placed the order and forgot about it......six monthes later I get a call that my muzzleoader came in. The gun store owner claims TC called him and told him they had found 7 of them misplaced and sent me one. The owner bought the other six. i paid 350 bucks for mine, while the other six went on sale for around 500. Recently I have tried to look the gun up but cant find ANYTHING about it!! Is this a fairly rare muzzleloader? Is the shop owners story sound correct? How much is one of these worth now days? I do know the serial number seems low S3XXX??? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Every 5 years TC has made some sort of a special run of muzzleloaders...
Hawken Cougar
Hawken Custom
Hawken Cougar (again)
Hawken Silver Elite

They are ususally unique in that they have above average looking wood.
The Cougars had stainless furniture...the 'Custom' had all deep blue/black luster furniture & barrel, the Elite was stainless furniture & barrel, and so on...I have a few Cougars in .45 and .50.

I often see people listing them in the $500-600 range, but they usually actually sell in the $350-$400 range.....pretty and unique as they are, some of the replacement parts are not available due to their uniqueness.

(Claims that 1:48" twists won't shoot PRBs accurately are old wives tales!!)
