The following directive was issued by the commanding officer of a naval

If in fact this is a valid directive I concur with the Commander.

Substitute a few words and imagine this type of conduct on US soil.

I for one never tolerated troops under my command to enage in such shameless activity. A few tried it and learned more about Article 15 than they wanted to.

I agree -- the Directive is well considered.  The jocular T-shirts apply to our enemies in Iraq -- the insurgents -- but they also apply to those who we are supposed to be cooperating with to establish democracy in Iraq.  Another good reason to ban these T-shirts is that it adds fuel to the bogus attack that this is a war against muslims.  Again, the people we are supposed to be cooperating with to establish democracy in Iraq are muslims.
