I just made up a nice plinking load for my 600 JDJ. It's this cast, 700 gr. 90% meplat bullet with dacron filler and 70 Grs. IMR-4198. Results are 1447 fps w/ an extreme spread of only 25 fps. Recoil in the 10 lb. Ruger #1 is mild, but the power factor from this blunt bullet is reallly cool. I cut down an old 10" diameter scrub ash tree in 10 shots. Zero leading & a lot of fun:
