ok i got two question. first off, the sling. I have a Gamo Hunter and i want to get a sling for it , but will drilling the mount void my warranty? The second thing is that i just bought a RWS cleaning kit and the brush that came with it is real stiff. could this scratch my barrel?

Can't say regarding question 1 - have you asked the dealer you bought it from? Or try emailing the USA distributor for Gamo or one of the online dealers.

Cleaning: If you bought an air gun cleaning kit, I can't imagine they would include a bore brush that would harm your bore. RWS is a major seller of air guns and its in their interest to provide good equipment. Look at the brush carefully and I think you'll find the brush is real stiff nylon. That's the case with my Kleenbore brand kit.

My daughter uses a Gamo 880(890 now I believe) that I mounted a sling on. I just made sure that I mounted it far enough back to clear the action of the barrel when cocking. I've done this to all of our air rifles with the exception of the wife's Super 12. On it I used a barrel band sling mount.

Sorry but I know nothing about the RWS cleaning kit, as we use Beeman's and their brushes seem just fine. Lawdog

I took a tip from a Chinese underlever and mounted simple hardware on the sides of the stock. Got leather straps from the shoe store and used a leather screw on each end. Choose your own length and punch a hole. you can set it so you can insert your left arm in the strap for a positive hunting hold. I did it to RWS 40, 46, 34, and R9 Beeman. Cheap fix and it works. Throw the gun over your right shoulder where the butt will be vertical and go mow the yard, stop and shoot a starling .

thanks for all the info. i emailed gamo and after a week or two they finnaly responded. it does not void my warranty. i have been looking for a sling that doesn't require drilling, but i might just go ahead and drill in some mounts.
