Is there an after market barrel for a Browning Hi Power in .357 Sig? I Love the gun, curious about this caliber. It seems the ideal caliber for self defense.

Seems you need to start with a .40 cal for stronger frame, etc.. Sounds like there's a few manufacturers producing barrels and at least one gunsmith willing to do a conversion (personally, I'd check with Cylinder & Slide, too). HTH. PeterF.

I have no concept of how strong a frame should be.
I do know that in a Sig there is a simple replacement barrel for this change (no fitting required) and it works very well.
I would think that it should be for any if the manufacturer offers.

anthony - if your Browning is alread a 40 S&W then all you need is an aftermarket 357 Sig barrel - there should be any number of places that offer that and I would check with Federal Arms first as they often advertize conversion barrels. If you don't have any success there I woud find the Bar-Sto Barrel website and check with them. HTH. Mikey.
