Well in first place would be GETTYSBURG.. although like  most of the rest of you when i watch it there are things you see that ya are well thats not right or  thats not how its done but  as far as theatrics go No. 1 in my book
and  in a close second is The Alamo (2005). when they were loading th cannons inside the fort with bags of nails that was cool.

Master and Commander, The Far Side of the World.  The artillery scenes and sounds are as authentic as you can get in a movie.

Being a mortar cannon lover I'd have to say that my favorite movie with cannons is the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. As far as I know it is the only movie with a 13 inch seacoast mortar in it. I wish I knew if the cannon was just a paper mache prop or maybe it was Paulson Brothers?? No way that I know of to find out??

I believe the movie was made before the Paulsons had theirs.  I don't think the movies would go to the kind of trouble it would take to move one of these monsters even if it were available.

I liked the night battle scenes at Fort William Henry in Last of the Mohicans. Lots of smoke, flash, fire and almost realistic recoil.

I always liked the little cannon on the front of Professor Fate’s car in the Great Race.

The Last of the Mohicans was in my opinion the best artillery film that I have seen.

I'm not much of a movie watcher.
But I do remember in one of the Davey Crockett movies there was a swivel cannon given by D.C. to Mike Fink that was used to fight off some fake indians that ended up getting dropped in the river.
Also, while not technically a cannon, the scenes in "Tremors 4" with the punt gun were interesting.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

OOPS.... I made a huge mistake ..!!!  ...some would say blasphemous..!!!....the movie I was referring to DD was titled "MAJOR DUNDEE "  and the lead actor was Charleston Heston whom  by the way I think shoud be our next president , not John Wayne.as i stated earlier..........pretty cool film .........another movie i really like is cutthroat island ...............

Hmmm, Let's see. There's the Buccaneer with Yul Brynner, when they take out the British rocket battery.

Then there's the bombard scene in Timeline with Billy Connolly.

The scenes in the Patriot with Mel Gibson were well done and very graphic.

Ernest Rides Again

Man I almost forgot Ernest Rides Again! I know, it's a crazy movie with a non existant cannon but I have always had this dream of finding a big cannon in a cave like Ernest finds in the movie. I love big cannons.
