What is maximum length of contender pistol barrels?

The 16 inch barrels that I have seen listed, are they rifle or pistol?

Some barrels may be 16 1/2 inches that I have seen listed.

I have several 14 inch barrels but have wondered about using longer barrels if possible on some of the harder kicking rounds.

There is no legal maximum if thats what you're asking. I believe 16" barrels are actually 16-1/4" for legal rifle use. I have an 18" 450 marlin custom shop bull barrel that I shoot mostly as a pistol. The recoil is brutal in a rifle configuration using full house loads. I prefere to shoot it as a pistol. KN

So 16 inch contender barrels are okay for pistols?

I have thought about getting that length for 30-30 and 45-70.

I have a 45/70 in 16 1/4 inch that I use both with a pistol grip and with a carbine stock set from Bullberry. It is a hoot to shoot both ways! I have loaded both the 405 gr and 300 gr bullets and have been happy with the results. Good shootin' if you get one! Fearless

I have a 45/70 barrel for my contender pistol thats 16 1/4" long. The min. barrel for a shotgun is 18". I don't know what it is for a rifle. But then again I have another barrel that shoots the 410 and 45 colt and it only 14"

I shoot an Encore pistol with a 16 /14 " barrel in 308 winchester, it has a rifle forearm with hanger bar setup.

Minimum legal length for a rifle barrel is 16inches. With an overall length of 26inches. Using a Super 16 inch barrel with a factory adult buttstock will give you a carbine with an overall length of 30 inches.

I shoot a Super 16 in both handgun and rifle configurations depending on my mood.
