i have 3 handis thinking about getting a ml barrel my ?. when changing scoped barrels on and off frames does the zero change much. i alway check zero on my contender and have to adjust most of the time. just wondering about the handis.

steve you say you have 3 handies i gather they are all rifles if they i dont think you can fit a muzzelloader barrel on a rifle frame.tim will no for shure but i think i am corect.

dodd3 go to h&r1871 web site under barrel acc. it says any shotgun except 10 ga or rifle frame can be fitted with a ml barrel. :grin:

I read, somewhere on here, that it should not be much of a problem. Provided that you fit the forearm in the same way each time you install. If you tighten the forearm screw more or less each time...that, I think, would be the biggest variable to throw off you sighting. Also, when you get a ML barrel through the Barrel Accessory program, it comes the the ML forearm.

I have several barrels and do not have to adjusts sights switching them around. I have a screwdriver that I keep in gun cabinet and just tighten tight as I can get it with this same SD and I'm good to go. But I dont have all the Orings and stuff some have had to do to make their gun shoot well.

I change barrels often. I usually just tighten the forend screw snug, not real tight. I don't have any problem with scopes being off...

As long as you tighten the forend screw with the same torque each time it's installed, there should be no POI change. I use a Utica torque screwdriver on mine, but indexing works too.
