I'm a new guy to this. Last night loaded my first 10 cartridges.
.243 winchester
36.0 grains IMR 4895
cci large rifle primers
new winchester brass-full length resized
70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets
OAL 2.659-2.662
lee anniversary kit equipment
shot them this afternoon. was much relieved that I still have all body parts.....LOL
All shot fine. Not overly impressed with accuracy. My rifle really likes the Federal 70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips. I would like to eventually approximate this load (if not able to improve apon it).
Now to my question:
The last 3 or 4 cases came out of the rifle with a black residue on them. Mostly on the neck and shoulder.
Any ideas as to the cause of this?
