holster for glock 21
« on: October 06, 2005, 09:29:52 AM »
Hello all,

I just bought a 21, well I paid for it I get to pick it up soon.  anyway I want a holster,  or maybe 2.  I want one I can hook to my backpack for woods use and one I can carried concealed.  I was thinking the fobus looked good and had a great price.  any suggestions?

thanks

HH

There are several good holsters available for the 21. I use a Fobus for IDPA, it works well for concealment with a reasonable overgarment. Another reasonably priced holster to consider for OWB carry is the "Hunter Pancake" . About $30 and works well. You have chosen a pretty big gun to carry concealed-----as you like the .45 and the Glock, you might want to consider the mdl 36 for concealed carry. Much smaller, lighter. thinner. A model 20 might be nice for backpacking, considerably more power than the 21 and fits in the same holster. I would think twice about attaching a holster to a backpack-------too inaccessible. Perhaps the strong side/crossdraw/shoulder holster would be a better choice. I have 21 and a 36 and am fond of both. They both have their nitchies.

I would recommend an Alessi Hideout for carrying concealed or possibly a Talon Plus.  I have the Hideout for my S&W Model 6904 and the Talon Plus for my Glock 23.  Check out the link:

:cb2: Been carrying a 21 since '93 and the most comfortable holster I've found was the Forbus paddle holster. I've tried Galco, Humes, and several more; hip, s.o.b., and shoulder rigs, but the Forbus paddle feels better and works great. Wish they made one for a 4" N-frame!

Yup, I also have a FOBUS holster for my G23 and I love it...Not great for concealed carry but it works when wearing a sweat shirt or slightly longer jacket.  It is very comfortable and it will only run you between $15 and $20...

Take a look at these, also. Like the Fobus, but lined, so no rattle.

Try sidearmor.  I have found them comfortable and very durable.  They cost more than Fobus, but I feel they are worth every penny.
